IBI Intelligent Building Installations

Conson IBI Intelligent Building Installations is an investment into the future. In the near future IBI will become the standard in buildings worldwide to comply with regulations on CO2 emissions. Scandinavia is one of the leading markets when it comes to wind, sun and wave energy, adjustment of daily light and energy surveillance among others. In many countries they are beginning to realise that we have to preserve our planet. The CEO from a large company even thinks that the current share of IBI (Intelligent Building Installations) of approximately 14% of the total market for light installations will increase to 50% within 2012 – There you go! Let's get started with the Conson Concept 2000XP – the Intelligent Building Installation that has an open Bus Standard (Conbus) and is build up by "stand alone" modules, where reliability has the highest priority. Avoid the risk of a "black out" in your building while at the same time saving up to 80% on your energy bill.

The current building regulations are a step in the right direction as they require a focus on energy consumption in buildings. This means that IBI (Intelligent Building Installations) are becoming more popular in new buildings and this is where Concept 2000XP comes in to play. This system, which uses an open communication Bus (Conbus), is the most energy efficient on the market today. When calculating the reduction over a 20 year period, the investment in IBI (Intelligent Building Installations) is well paid for.

We are constantly making sure that we are up to date with the technology. Read more under the Technology-paragraph.

Office buildings

Smaller offices can also benefit from IBI (Intelligent Building Installations). The standby consumption alone is very costly. Therefore switches for computers, copy machines, table lamps, air-condition and so on are turned off at night by the Conson light adjustment, thereby saving energy 12-14 hours a day.

Day light adjustment using Conson dimmer combined with motion detectors can save you up to 80% of the electricity bill. As a standard our dimmers are equipped with daylight adjustment and have a built-in special control for offices and corridors. When there is no activity in a room or corridor, the brightness is reduced to 10%. If there is activity, the light returns to 90% brightness at the rate desired. This function enables you to save energy and avoid large starting currents. Furthermore, it gives you the comfort of not having to walk into a dark room or corridor. Conson has sold daylight control systems for schools and offices since 1982. In Australia all schools are equipped with daylight control systems as a standard. We have delivered thousands of Conson Intelligent Building Installations IBI.

Hotels / congress centers

For the hotel sector we provide systems which control the light in the hotel rooms, turn off the mini bar, heating and air condition when the rooms are unoccupied. The system can also monitor the corridors and in case of a forced entry the video cameras in the hallway will automatically be turned on recording the event. Daylight control systems are also widely used in the reception area and conference rooms.

At the Hotel Maritim in Cologne, Germany all windows are being monitored. In case of fire, the air condition will be turned off in the room affected. Everything is controlled from a computer in the reception.

Museums

We have delivered more than 2,500 modules for controlling the light at the Technical Museum in Mannheim, Germany.

Reducing the light using motion detectors to 10% in the display cases at the museum when no visitors are nearby saves many KW-hours. Some display cases are equipped with LED-light sources, which are even more energy efficient.

Switches are blocked during opening hours so the guests cannot control the light.
